NEVERFLAT Newsletter #2 Now Available: Discover the Latest Project Progress
The NEVERFLAT consortium is pleased to announce the publication of Newsletter #2, providing an overview of the project’s latest achievements, technical developments and dissemination activities.
As the project enters a new phase of technology integration and pilot preparation, the second newsletter highlights the progress made by partners across the consortium in developing innovative smart charging and Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) solutions that support Europe’s transition towards cleaner, smarter and more flexible electric mobility.
Whether you are a project partner, stakeholder, researcher or simply interested in the future of sustainable transport and energy systems, Newsletter #2 offers valuable insights into the work carried out over recent months.
Technical Progress Across the Project
The latest edition presents key developments from the project’s technical work packages, demonstrating how partners are working together to build an interoperable and user-friendly charging ecosystem.
Among the featured topics are the implementation of OCPP 2.0.1, ongoing preparations for compatibility with OCPP 2.1, and the development of ISO 15118-20 functionalities that will support secure Plug & Charge services. These technologies are essential for improving communication between electric vehicles, charging infrastructure and energy management systems.
The newsletter also highlights progress in the development of the project’s DC microgrid architecture, DC-DC converter technologies, forecasting tools and the V2G management platform. Together, these components form the foundation of the integrated charging environment being developed within NEVERFLAT.
Preparing for Real-World Demonstrations
Another important focus of this edition is the preparation of the project’s pilot sites.
Readers can learn about the ongoing work to coordinate equipment procurement, installation activities, testing procedures and validation plans across the demonstration sites. These activities are helping ensure that the technologies developed within NEVERFLAT will be successfully deployed and evaluated under real operating conditions.
As technical development continues, the consortium remains focused on ensuring that hardware, software and digital services are fully integrated before the demonstration phase begins.
Consortium Activities and Collaboration
Newsletter #2 also looks back at the consortium’s recent activities, including participation in international events and the fourth General Assembly held in Berlin.
These meetings provide valuable opportunities for partners to exchange knowledge, review technical progress and strengthen collaboration across the project. Close cooperation between research organisations, industry partners, technology developers and pilot leaders remains essential to achieving the project’s objectives.
The newsletter also showcases the consortium’s ongoing dissemination efforts, helping increase the visibility of the project and engage stakeholders from across the electric mobility and energy sectors.
Read and Share the Newsletter
We encourage all project partners, stakeholders and members of the wider research and innovation community to read the latest edition and share it with colleagues and professional networks.
By sharing the newsletter, you help raise awareness of the project’s achievements and support the dissemination of innovative solutions that contribute to a more sustainable and resilient European energy system.
