Great discussions and inspiring exchanges at the dena Energiewende Kongress 2025 in Berlin!

On 3–4 November 2025, partners from Mobility2Grid, TU Berlin and Hubject took part in the dena Energiewende Kongress, held at the Berlin Congress Center (BCC). The event brought together stakeholders from across the energy, mobility, research, and policy communities to exchange perspectives on the transformation of energy systems and the integration of innovative technologies.
As part of the official poster session, the Horizon Europe NEVERFLAT project was showcased through a poster on display. Representatives from TU Berlin, Hubject, and Mobility2Grid were present throughout the session and available for discussions with attendees. The poster was presented on behalf of Mobility2Grid by Nina Weber and provided an overview of the project’s objectives and its contribution to the development of bidirectional charging solutions.
The poster session format enabled direct, in-depth exchanges with a wide range of participants, including researchers, industry representatives, and public-sector actors. Discussions focused on the role of Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) technologies in supporting grid flexibility and on the broader relevance of projects such as NEVERFLAT within the ongoing energy transition. These conversations allowed the project to be situated within current technical and policy debates, without the constraints of a formal stage presentation.
Representing both the Mobility2Grid research campus and the NEVERFLAT project, the team engaged with participants on the technical and practical considerations surrounding bidirectional charging. The exchanges highlighted shared challenges and interests across sectors, as well as the need for coordinated approaches when advancing V2G concepts from research into real-world contexts. The presence of colleagues from TU Berlin and Hubject supported discussions that linked academic research, interoperability, and market-facing perspectives.
In addition, the poster session provided an opportunity to discuss the broader relevance of NEVERFLAT in promoting V2G as an enabling technology for future energy and mobility systems. Conversations addressed how research and innovation activities under Horizon Europe can contribute to building confidence in bidirectional charging concepts and to identifying pathways for wider adoption. Insights from these exchanges were informed by expertise across energy systems and mobility research, including contributions from Prof. Patrick Jochem during informal discussions at the event.
The dena Energiewende Kongress once again demonstrated its role as a key platform for connecting projects, institutions, and individuals working towards a more sustainable energy system. By bringing together diverse perspectives in a single forum, the congress facilitated constructive dialogue on how technical innovation, policy frameworks, and practical implementation can be aligned.
Participation in the 2025 edition supported NEVERFLAT’s dissemination and stakeholder engagement activities, enabling the project to share its approach, gather feedback, and strengthen links with the wider energy and mobility community. Further information on the NEVERFLAT project and its activities is available on the project website.
