The NEVERFLAT project was represented at the eMobility Expo World Congress 2026

Held in March 2026 in Málaga, Spain, the event is recognised as a leading European platform dedicated to sustainable, electrified, and connected mobility. It brings together public authorities, industry representatives, research organisations, and technology providers to explore solutions shaping the future of transport.

During the event, MLVG engaged with stakeholders across the mobility value chain and contributed to discussions addressing the transition from infrastructure-based mobility systems towards data-driven and integrated urban mobility ecosystems.

A key outcome of MLVG’s participation was its recognition at the eMobility Innovation Awards, where the organisation received the “Best Innovative Project for the Future of Mobility” award. This distinction acknowledges its work on a federated data space and urban mobility sandbox, supporting the testing and validation of innovative mobility and logistics solutions in real-world conditions.

Iñigo Bilbao Ubillos, CEO of the Mobility Lab Vitoria-Gasteiz Foundation, contributed to the congress programme through two round tables:

Mobility as a tool for urban regeneration – focusing on how mobility policies support neighbourhood revitalisation, public space reorganisation, and improvements in urban quality of life, based on municipal experience.
The backbone of the new mobility: From assets to smart systems – addressing how IoT, artificial intelligence, and data integration transform static infrastructure into dynamic, self-optimising systems, improving coordination across transport, logistics, and energy domains.

His participation reflects MLVG’s role in combining urban mobility planning, innovation deployment, and data-driven system integration, as well as experience gained through NEVERFLAT in areas related to smart charging infrastructure and cross-domain interoperability between transport and energy systems.

Participation in high-level events such as the eMobility Expo World Congress forms part of NEVERFLAT’s dissemination and stakeholder engagement activities. It enables the project to:

present its approach to smart and interoperable EV charging infrastructure
exchange insights with stakeholders across policy, industry, and research
align technical development with emerging European mobility and energy integration trends

Through continued engagement in international forums, NEVERFLAT partners contribute to the development of integrated, data-driven, and user-oriented mobility systems across Europe.
