Connecting Policy, Ecosystems, and Innovation in NEVERFLAT

Within the NEVERFLAT project, partner MLVG is actively engaged in both the ALINNEA and POLIS ecosystems-networks that bring together organisations, cities, and regions to explore challenges and contribute to policy discussions on sustainable mobility and energy systems.

Through this involvement, NEVERFLAT maintains continuous connections with stakeholders shaping the future of urban mobility and clean energy. These connections ensure that the project remains aligned with ongoing developments in policy, regulation, and market expectations.

ALINNEA, hosted by IE University and supported by the European Climate Foundation (ECF), operates as a Think & Action Tank dedicated to accelerating effective and equitable climate action. Its work focuses on communication, stakeholder engagement, and coordination, supporting the dissemination of project activities while contributing to broader discussions around smart EV charging and innovative mobility solutions.

At the same time, POLIS, a well-established European network of cities and regions, provides expertise in urban mobility and transport innovation. By facilitating the exchange of insights and practices across cities, POLIS connects innovation with real urban deployment contexts and public authority needs.

Together, these ecosystems support the project by linking research activities with broader discussions on policy and urban needs, while extending the visibility of its work.

Importantly, the outcomes of these ecosystems are not only informative but also influential. Insights emerging from ALINNEA and POLIS-such as priorities around interoperable charging infrastructure, regulatory clarity, and system integration-feed into NEVERFLAT’s ongoing development and decision-making processes. This ensures that technical design choices and deployment strategies remain aligned with anticipated policy directions and stakeholder expectations.

Through these connections, NEVERFLAT contributes to and benefits from ongoing dialogue on more sustainable and efficient urban mobility systems, reinforcing its role within the evolving European mobility and energy landscape.
