Technologies Overview

The NEVERFLAT project brings together a comprehensive set of technological components to enable smart, low-cost, and bi-directional charging for electric vehicles. The aim is to support widespread deployment of charging infrastructure that is efficient, user-friendly, and interoperable. These technologies cover hardware and software layers, from compact modular stations and local microgrids to advanced management systems, forecasting tools, and secure transaction models.

All solutions are developed and validated under real-world conditions across several European cities. They are designed to reduce energy waste, strengthen grid resilience, and support integration with renewable sources, while keeping user needs, cost-efficiency, and operational flexibility at the core.

Core Technologies Advancing NEVERFLAT’s Smart Charging System

NEVERFLAT integrates a set of interoperable technologies covering planning, infrastructure, energy management, and user interaction to support scalable and efficient EV charging. Key components include a planning tool by INGARTEK and TU Berlin for optimized charger deployment, compact bi-directional charging stations developed by Tekniker and Stansol, and advanced energy forecasting and V2G management tools from IREC-CERCA. Hubject ensures seamless Plug&Charge and e-Roaming services, while Grid & Co. delivers low-power charging systems and management platforms for local grid integration. A blockchain-based wallet by Edentify enables secure energy tokenisation, supporting user incentives and smart energy transactions.
