Throwback to EnergIntell 2025 – Presenting NEVERFLAT’s Vision for Smart Energy Systems

EnergIntell is a forum for sharing ideas on energy innovation, highlighting emerging technologies, research initiatives, and practical solutions supporting the transition to more sustainable and resilient energy systems.

Last October, the EnergIntell Conference brought together energy professionals, researchers, and policy experts to discuss the rapidly evolving landscape of the energy transition and its implications for global energy systems and security.

EnergIntell serves as a forum for exchanging ideas on innovation in the energy sector, highlighting emerging technologies, research initiatives, and practical solutions that support the transition towards more sustainable and resilient energy infrastructures. The event provided a valuable platform for collaboration, enabling participants to explore how research and innovation can address technical, regulatory, and market challenges.

During the workshop dedicated to research and innovation solutions for the energy transition, the NEVERFLAT project was presented by Corneliu Barbu, NEVERFLAT Project Coordinator, together with Mihai Mladin from the project partner CRE.

Their presentation introduced the audience to the objectives of the NEVERFLAT project and its approach to supporting the development of vehicle-to-grid (V2G) solutions. The project focuses on enabling electric vehicles to play a more active role in the energy system by allowing bidirectional interaction with the grid. Through smart charging and V2G services, electric vehicles can contribute to balancing energy demand, supporting grid stability, and increasing the flexibility of renewable energy integration.

The presentation attracted strong interest from energy professionals attending the workshop and sparked an engaging discussion on the opportunities and challenges associated with implementing V2G technologies. Participants explored both technical barriers and market-related considerations, including infrastructure requirements, user incentives, and regulatory frameworks.

The discussion also highlighted the potential added value of solutions developed within NEVERFLAT, particularly in improving the efficiency and accessibility of smart charging infrastructure while supporting the broader objectives of the energy transition.

Events such as EnergIntell play an important role in strengthening dialogue between researchers, industry stakeholders, and policymakers. By sharing project insights and engaging with experts across the energy ecosystem, the NEVERFLAT consortium continues to contribute to the development of practical solutions that support a more flexible and resilient energy system.
